Hand-Spun Manual Machine Knitted Alpaca Vest
A chunky, artisanal knit square vest made from ethically sourced hand-spun alpaca wool by our Founder Samm Lewis, featuring a unique textured stitch and a blocky, slightly oversized silhouette.
The vest is inspired by Japanese no waste construction, working with square knitted pieces from hand-spun wool, on a manual knitting machine. Each piece takes around 2-3 weeks to make including spinning enough wool, washing and drying the wool at each step, knitting, blocking and construction.
Each piece is completely unique, from the spinning of the yarn, to the colour patterns of the animal fiber used.
Please only wash with cold water on a short wool cycle, we have had experiences where even a 35 degrees Celsius wool wash has shrunk our wool pieces in test phase. 40 degrees Celsius is definately too hot on a wool cycle.
